The club was started in late 2022 by a freshman named Greyden Kutner.

There are two divisions in the club: the beginners and the advanced. In the beginners division, basic Python skills are taught to people who are new to programming or the language in general. In the advanced division, people who are more familiar with programming in general will get together and work on various projects such as video games or webpages, such as this one.

History

Even prior to the founding of the Digital Raiders, Randolph School has had a rich history of computer programmers. In the 1980s, the school had a PDP-11 mainframe computer. One of the SysOps for that machine was Brian Reynolds, who went on to become a professional video game developer. He is currently the president of Firaxis Games. He was also the lead developer for Civilization II, which was released in 1996.

Another notable alumni is Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia. Wales attended Randolph in the 1980s and graduated early at the age of sixteen.
