Since the founding of the Digital Raiders in 2022, the group has competed in multiple hackathons (coding competitions).

Alabama Governor's App Challenge 2024 High School 1st Place

The first hackathon the group competed in was NASA's SpaceApps in early October 2022. The team programmed a game called Biological Hero, a role-playing video game where the player controls an astronaut with special biological powers. The team won first place in the local high school division of the competition.

The team also competed in Lockheed Martin's CodeQuest, where the team was given multiple prompts and had to make as many programs for them as they could within two hours. The team won third place in the local beginners division in 2023, and they were very happy.

HudsonAlpha Tech Challenge 2024

MimicSequence

This program uses AI-generated demographics based on real people's that had lung cancer to predict users' chance of having lung cancer based on their demographics.


NASA SpaceApps 2023

Celestial Nightfall

In this game, players act as scientists 3 billion years from today, when total eclipses no longer occur. Their mission is to use eclipse data from Buffalo, New York 3 billion years before to bring the moon back to its former position.

In this game, the player controls an astronaut with special biological powers who must return to Mars to find their lost wallet.
